Mrs. Myers on Tuesday and Friday
Mrs. Myers is returning to substitute on Tuesday, November 16 and Friday, November 19. She gave an excellent behavior report and is eager to work with the students again.
Canned Food / Big Can Game
This week, we are continuing to collect canned food for the Second Harvest Food Shelter. Giving out of your surplus and sacrifice are very much appreciated. Also, the staff from John Muir will be playing a softball game against the staff of Willow Glen on Thursday afternoon at Willow Glen High School's baseball field starting at 3:30pm. Please come out and cheer us on. For the third year in a row, I will be playing on the field, probably second base. I hope to see you there!
6th Grade Announcements & Homework
We are rapidly approaching the end of our third unit, fractions. Unit Test 3 will be administered next Tuesday. We have already covered adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions and mixed numbers. This week, we will be comparing fractions and mixed numbers with their decimal counterparts and solving word problems using fractions. On Friday, the students will take and grade a practice test in class. Their homework for the weekend will be to correct the problems they got wrong on a sheet of binder paper. Homework for the week is as follows:
Monday (11/15): WB 3-5 #8-17
Tuesday (11/16): Unit 3 Review W.S.
Wednesday (11/17): WB 3-6 #1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 10, 15
Thursday (11/18): Word Problems W.S.
